Leadership is a position that helps to guide, assist and manage people effectively and ethically within an organization to achieve a common goal (Wilson, n.d.). Leaders can influence people and motivate them to perform the best according to their abilities. In my previous workplace, I assumed a leadership position as a Sales manager. I lead a small group and was assigned the task of influencing and motivating people to meet their daily goals. I was required to provide guidance and mentorship, create sales plans, set goals for the team, and ensure effective team building. Thus, as a manager, I applied communication, problem-solving and evaluative skills to solve problems and ensure that the team is motivated to meet the desired goals.
